Spend a week sailing between these islands and enjoying what unique pleasures each one offers. An excellent place for a maritime vacation, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines archipelago consists of 32 beautiful islands and cays. Six parishes separate the main settlement, St. Vincent, and numerous small ones make up a collective parish known as the Grenadines. With your chartered boat, a wealth of lovely beaches and blue waters lie at your disposal, waiting to be explored.
Young Island Cut makes a great place to start, with hotels, restaurants, and bars. Visit nearby Bequia next, only a few hours away. Stroll the streets of Port Elizabeth, the capital of the Grenadines, and don't forget to take the boat around to the west side of Bequia to see Moonhole, a villa built into the rock formations. Anchor at Mustique for a cocktail and watch the sunset, or moor at an anchorage at Petite Nevis and enjoy a taste of tropical cuisine at the restaurants there. If you like birds, be sure to sail north to St. Vincent and see the rare St. Vincent parrot and the whistling warbler.
Offshore and surrounded by the stunning blue water, more fun activities abound. Magnificent coral reefs encircle most of the islands, making colorful and enchanting diving or snorkeling spots. The pristine waters make for excellent underwater sight-seeing, so much that the travel awards 2006 awarded St Vincent and the Grenadines the Diving Island of the Year. Be on the watch for dolphins and whales, as they flourish in these areas. Keep your camera handy for orcas and bottlenoses, and maybe even the occasional humpback!
Travel to St. Vincent and the Grenadines for a fantastic sailing holiday!
